The future of glaucoma management and policy implication

Thanks to many recent well-conducted population-based studies in Europe we now have a much better understanding of glaucoma prevalence and underdiagnosis, which cannot be captured with studies based on hospital/ clinic/volunteers. Regions with the highest prevalence of glaucoma often have the most limited healthcare resources. To meet this growing demand, there will need to be efficient utility of resources, improved access to care, and improved awareness of the disease.
