Ophthalmologists should be aware that tonometry readings may substantially underestimate IOP in patients treated for the correction of myopia with corneal laser techniques. In such patients, a correction using CCT values can only give indications. A tonometer device that aims to correct for dynamic corneal properties may be optimal, and careful monitoring of visual field and/or OCT in such glaucoma patients or suspects is required even with apparently low IOP.
